 Clifford Moncus (better known as the "Holey Man") - Lead Vocals and Guitar
Clifford is the guitar player and lead vocalist with the band. He also does a lot of M.C. work at several festivals. Clifford and his wife Peggy live in Chambers County and have six children and 7 grandchildren. He has many hobbies that he enjoys: music, music, and more music!
Clifford started playing music when he was 14 years old and he hasn't stopped. He has written several songs, had two records published by BMI, and has written a song with Billy Turner. Of all the music Clifford has performed, he loves bluegrass/gospel the best, even though he still sings some of the old country songs occasionally. He has promoted many bluegrass festival such as Silver Pines Campground, Burnt Village Campground, The Franklin Music Park, and helped promote the Hackneyville Bluegrass Festival which is held the last weekend in April. For over a year, he and his wife were involved in promoting the "Rusty Nail" in Cragford Alabama.

 Billy (Old Blue) Turner - Lead and Tenor Vocals, Guitar and Mandolin
Billy grew up on Lake Martin in Tallapoosa County Alabama. He got his first guitar when he was 5 years old and played country and gospel music until he went to the Tennessee Valley Fiddler's Convention in 1960. That's where he got hooked on bluegrass.
Since 1960, he has played with 6 different bands, 4 of which he helped to organize. He has played from Florida to Canada and has played on stage at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville Tennessee. He has also been a member of the House band at Hoofer's Gospel Barn in Lagrange Georgia. He is presently a member of Highway 280 where he plays both mandolin and guitar. He sings lead and tenor with the group.
Some of the bands Billy has played with are Buck Creek, Saugahatchee Syrup Soppers, Lake Martin Bluegrass, Four Season's, and Twilight Bluegrass. Billy say's "when you put the Lord first in your life, all His blessings will follow. Thank God for my family, friends, and the blessings He has given me."

 Marvin Walters Bass Guitar, Guitar and Mandolin
Marvin is no stranger to bluegrass and gospel music. Back in the 1980’s, he played for a while with the Saugahatchee Syrup Soppers (one of Gwen’s old bands) as well as other groups in the area. He was most recently a member of the Gospel group The Redeemed. Marvin joined Highway 280 in May of 2005 after filling in here and there for various members. Marvin and his wife Christine live in Auburn. Marvin is retired and when you don't see him playing bluegrass music somewhere, he may be in a grassy field somewhere f lying radio control aircraft!

 Gwen Taunton - Lead and Baritone Vocals, Fiddle and Bass.
Gwen has been playing banjo off and on for around 20 years now. He originally got started with a bluegrass band from Auburn know as the Saugahatchee Syrup Soppers. While with Saugahatchee, he had the opportunity to record his first bluegrass album entitled "Home Folks" which was produced by Carl Jackson.
After playing with the band for around 7 years, he left to complete his college degree. In the meanwhile, he played and sang with several local gospel groups and even played in several studio sessions with various bands. Then in 2001, he joined Highway 280 as the banjo player. In 2005, he developed problems with his right hand which has prevented him from playing banjo, so he has picked up the fiddle and has been fiddling since about that time.
Gwen and his wife Jan live in Auburn and have 2 sons, Blake and Jeremy. He has a Ph.D. in Information Systems and is a computer science instructor at Southern Union State Community College in Opelika Alabama. Gwen is also very active in the music program at his church where he plays drums in the orchestra and serves as a church musician.
